about me

Sarah Hogg

Special and individual needs consultant

I am a dedicated advocate and educator specialising in special educational needs (SEN), individual needs, and neurodiversity. With nearly three decades of experience in education, 25 of those in SEN schools, I have worked extensively with families, children and young people (both diagnosed and undiagnosed) offering guidance, support and a voice for those navigating the educational landscape.

In addition to direct support, I collaborate with educators, teaching assistants (TAs and HLTAs), specialist support assistants (SSAs) and employers, providing training and insight into how best to support neurodiverse individuals across mainstream and specialist educational settings, as well as in employment environments.

Bringing a wealth of experience from both teaching and educational leadership roles, I offer an inclusive and engaging approach spanning all age groups, educational phases, SEN categories and types of provision.

Whether delivering professional development or working one-on-one with learners, I am passionate about creating equitable, supportive environments where every individual can thrive.

Knowing Sarah is an expert in the field of Special Needs Education, I asked her to support our consultant in the content and management of a SEN workshop commitment for Earth Energy Education. Sarah discussed with our consultant a wide range of strategies to keep the students engaged and prepared for the workshop. She talked about a structured visible timetable for the students, a hands-on approach to activities, keeping activities short, and being flexible to the needs of the students. The workshop was a great success. Our consultant found her advice invaluable.

Tracy Linney, Earth Energy Education Senior Consultant.
